Welcome to Jazz from 43rd Parallel North.
My name is manmarukumi which means well-rounded Kumi in japanese, you may call me manmaru or Kumi.
I am living in a city by the name of Mississauga which is in Ontario Canada. Oscar Peterson, the great jazz pianist lived in Mississauga, and for many years in the area of 43rd Parallel North. This is where the inspiration for my blog title came from.
In this blog I am introducing Canadian jazz musicians to the Japanese audience.
This is my second blog which I started in July 2009, since then I've recieved kind responses from friends all over Japan and Canada.
If you want to read them in English you can click on the google translation but the translation is not that accurate. It's actually pretty bad, it is a straight translation and doesn't make any sense most of the time. Sometimes it translats to the totally opposite of what I want to say, so don't be alarmed by any crazy translations.
I write many good reviews on different jazz artists and I am very happy to recieve comments on the blog.
Thank you to everyone who comes to see my blog.
Some people mentioned to me that my blog maybe the only jazz blog introducing Canadian jazz in Japanese so far.
I hope there will be more similar sites in the future.
Thank you for dropping in and I hope you enjoy Jazz from 43rd Parallel North as much as I do.
If you find any wrong information in the article please let me know and if you have any comments please feel free to use the comment system provided.
Thanks again for being here with me. Happy listening!
Kumi
